Brean Sands Model Flying week has been held at Unity Farm now for a number of years and the amount of pilots attending has grown every year without fail. The week is organised and run by Darren Goule. In 2009 we were joined by cars, boats, trains and crafts and was a great success. Its sure to be even better in 2010

FLYING SITES

There are two ‘power’ flying sites. The first is the beach which enables you to fly all sizes of fixed wing models including jets, plus heli’s too.
This is an absolutely fantastic flying site and despite being a beach is very quiet as we drive way up the beach away from the public.

The other benefit of the beach site are the sand dunes. When any wind is coming straight off the sea they make a great place to slope soar. Any smallish glider will happily fly from the dunes. The norm though is combat models. Great fun!

The second ‘power’ site is a field at the back of the camp. The site was MUCH improved in 2009 and is being worked on more for 2010.

The are also 2 local hills that cater for 3 wind directions for good slop soaring.

OTHER ACTIVITIES DURING THE WEEK
